Jose ‘Joe’ Agbisit

September 17, 1934 – October 18, 2022

Joe Agbisit of Moses Lake went home to the Lord on Oct. 18, 2022. He was born Sept. 17, 1934, in Billings, Montana.

When he was a young boy his parents and two sisters moved to Washington and settled in the Yakima Valley and turned to farming, raising vegetables for market. Joe attended school and graduated high school in Wapato, Washington. He was a member of the FFA club and farmed on his own, receiving many awards for his achievements. He was very active in the Filipino-American community in Wapato. Joe attended and graduated from college at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. Joe worked for the Washington State Department of Agriculture as a senior inspector. He worked all of Eastern Washington inspecting seed crop fields for certification until he retired after 34 years. He was drafted into military service and served in the U.S. Army for two years.

Joe is survived by his wife Jean Agbisit, son Donald Rhyne (Donavyn) and daughter Theresa Hensley (Carl), brother Marion Agbisit (Olivia), brother George Agbisit (Lupe), sister Flora Agbisit, sister MaryAnn Rice (John), sister Elizabeth Perez (Ray), seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Raymond L. and Mary Rachel Agbisit, brother Jesus George Agbisit, sister Ruby Riedel and daughter Jeanie Harden.

A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at Kayser’s Chapel of Memories. Rosary will be held on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Moses Lake, followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Pioneer Memorial Gardens.
