Mavericks swim and dive girls at 6-0

MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake girls swim and dive team has gone a perfect 6-0 in league play, pushing the Mavericks to a regular season championship in the sport. Coming up for the Mavericks are the Big Nine championships Thursday and district championship Oct. 27 at home before the state meet on Nov. 9 and 10.

In the 200-yard medley, Julia Heaps, Kathryn DuVall, Aniston Dana and Issabelle Parrish took first with a combined time of 1:58.28. The Mavericks took second in the event as well, with Lydia Jensen, Bria Bodenman, Makhaela Parrish and Madeline O’Neil combining for a time of 2:07.20.

In the 200-yard freestyle, Kora Preston took first with a time of 2:38.26, closely followed by Sydnee Campos in second with a time of 2:38.32. Alexis Preston took seventh with a time of 3:24.27.

The Mavericks finished in the top three for the 200-yard individual medley. Issabelle Parrish finished first with 2:25.35, Heaps in second with 2:30.08 and Dana in third with 2:37.77.

In the 50-yard freestyle, DuVall, Makhaela Parrish and O’Neil finished first through third with times of 27.09, 27.13 and 28.89 respectively.

Abigail O’Neil (111.95) and Natalie Staats (62.45) took first and second, respectively, in the one-meter diving event.

Dana took first in the 100-yard butterfly event with a time of 1:06.35. She was followed by DuVall in second place with a time of 1:13.69.

Once again, the Mavs took the top three spots in the 100-yard freestyle event. Jensen finished first in 1:01.24, Keera Michie in second with a time of 1:02.03 and Alli Hines in third with a time of 1:04.32.

The 500-yard freestyle saw Bodenman take first, finishing in 5:46.97. Madeline O’Neil placed second with a time of 6:33.35 and Campos finished third with a time of 7:04.36.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of DuVall, Makhaela Parrish, Heaps and Issabelle Parrish took first with a team time of 1:45.51. The relay team of Dana, Michie, Madeline O’Neil and Jensen took second with a team time of 1:52.59.

Makhaela Parrish, Heaps and Hines finished first through third in the 100-yard backstroke event with times of 1:07.60, 1:07.70 and 1:13.96, respectively.

Issabelle Parrish took first in the 100-yard breaststroke event with a time of 1:20.09.

Moses Lake’s 400-yard relay team of Hines, Abigail O’Neil, Michie and Bodenman took first in the event with a team time of 4:15.85.
