Basin sports results for Oct. 10-15
COLUMBIA BASIN – The Moses Lake slowpitch softball team became the first team to finish their regular season here in the Basin, as other schools look to push on before playoffs begin. Read along below to see how local schools have fared over the past week of play, along with team records.
Almira/Coulee-Hartline
The Warriors won their second consecutive game on the gridiron Friday, defeating Wilbur-Creston-Keller and mounting a 12-point comeback in the process. Sophomore quarterback Carter Pitts rushed for 346 of ACH’s 487 total yards on Friday, scoring 6 touchdowns along the way. With a 5-2 record, the Warriors now prepare for a road matchup against undefeated Odessa. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. on Saturday for ACH.

ACH volleyball (5-4) defeated Wilbur-Creston-Keller 3-2 on Tuesday.
Ephrata
After starting the season 1-4, the Ephrata football team has now won back-to-back games and scored at least 47 points in each win. The Tigers defeated Grandview 47-10 on Friday to improve to 3-4 this season. Up next for the Tigers is a home game against Prosser.

Ephrata volleyball (8-2) lost to Selah 3-2.
Lind-Ritzville
The Broncos volleyball team won both of their matches last week, first defeating Saint George’s 3-0 on Monday and Liberty (Spangle) 3-1 on Thursday. With a 9-2 record the Broncos are second in the Northeast 2B league with a matchup against league-leader Colfax still on the schedule.

Bronco football (6-1) defeated Reardan 46-7
Moses Lake
The Mavericks locked up the No. 1 seed in the district tournament with four wins last week, first defeating West Valley (Yakima) 15-5 and 15-14 and Sunnyside 27-1 and 28-2. Moses Lake finished the regular season 16-2 and will look to move on to the state tournament after the district tournament on Saturday. The game begins at 11 a.m.

Moses Lake (6-1) football defeated Sunnyside 21-19.
Moses Lake soccer (5-8) lost 3-1 to Eastmont and won 7-2 over Sunnyside.
Moses Lake volleyball (7-5) defeated Eastmont 3-1 and Sunnyside 3-0.
MLCA/CCS
MLCA/CCS volleyball went 1-2 last week, first losing 3-1 to both Entiat and Waterville-Mansfield before defeating Pateros 3-1 on Thursday. The Lions are now 11-3 on the year and will look to continue their winning ways with three games on the schedule this week.

Othello
The Othello Huskies have been lighting up the scoreboard on the football field, averaging 55.75 points per game over their last four games. The Huskies improved to 6-1 with a 55-7 win over Grandview on Friday, and their 5-0 record in league play gives them the lead in the Central Washington Athletic Conference. Next up for Othello is a non-league road trip to Kelso on Friday.

Othello girls soccer (8-5) lost 4-0 to East Valley and won 1-0 over Prosser.
Othello volleyball (6-5) lost to Ellensburg 3-0 and Selah 3-1 before defeating Wapato 3-0.
Quincy
The Jackrabbits’ girls soccer team went 2-2 last week with wins over Omak and Brewster and losses to Chelan and Freeman. Now at 6-8, Quincy will look to even its record with games against Cascade (Leavenworth) and Omak this week.

Quincy football (2-5) lost to Chelan 38-14.
Royal
Royal volleyball went 1-1 last week, first defeating Wahluke 3-0 and falling 3-0 to Connell. The Knights are 6-6 on the court this year and third in the South Central Athletic Conference East. Next up for Royal is a road matchup at Kiona-Benton City on Tuesday.

Royal girls soccer (5-7) lost 1-0 to Wahluke and won 1-0 over Connell.
Royal football had its game canceled against Foss.
Soap Lake
The Eagles have won four-straight games on the volleyball court, with three of those wins ending in sweeps. Soap Lake went a perfect 3-0 against opponents last week, defeating Pateros, Easton and Thorp. With an 8-5 record, the Eagles have four games this week and will take on Thorp, Waterville-Mansfield, Cascade Christian Academy and Entiat.

Wahluke
With their first two losses in a month two weeks ago, the Wahluke girls soccer team got back to their winning ways this week with back-to-back wins against Royal and Toppenish, winning each game 1-0. Wahluke is now 9-3-1 this season and is second place in the league behind 13-0 Kiona-Benton City.

Wahluke football (2-5) lost 42-0 to Connell.
Warden
Warden volleyball improved to 9-4 in 2022 with 3-0 wins over Tri-Cities Prep and Columbia (Burbank) before a non-league loss to East Valley on Saturday. Seven of the nine wins for the Cougars have come in sweeping fashion this season, something that Warden will look to continue in their two games this week against Walla Walla Valley and Dayton-Waitsburg.

Warden girls soccer (6-6) won 10-0 over White Swan and 2-1 over Goldendale.
Warden football (2-5) lost 42-26 to Tri-Cities Prep.
Wilson Creek
The Devils volleyball team lost both road matches last week, first losing to Entiat before losing to Waterville-Mansfield. Wilson Creek is now 4-7 on the year.
