Fall fun in Grant Co.

GRANT COUNTY — With October here, fall and Halloween activities will be in full swing, including local pumpkin picking and corn mazes.

There are several pumpkin patches and mazes for Grant County residents to enjoy this season. Some of the offerings:

• Strawbelly’s Straw Maze, located across the street from One Stop Mart at 11852 Wheeler Road NE in Moses Lake, will be open 5 to 10:30 p.m. every Friday and Saturday in October - as well as Halloween night. Opening night will be Oct. 7. The regular maze is from 5 to 7 p.m. and the haunted maze is from 7 to 10:30 p.m.

• Othello Straw Maze, located at the Othello Rodeo Grounds 821 S Reynolds Rd, will open Oct. 7. The maze will be open every Friday and Saturday in October as well as Halloween night. Cost is $10 per person but kids ages 6 and under are free. 6 to 7 p.m. is a regular maze, but from 7 to 10 p.m. it will be haunted. Visit the maze’s Facebook page for updates.

• Quincy Valley Lions Club Harvest Maze and Pumpkin Patch, located at 9074 Road K NW between Quincy and Ephrata, will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays Oct. 1-30. Weekday times are available only to groups by appointment. Cost is $6 per person or $5 per person for groups of five or more. Entry fee includes one pumpkin. • Tonnemaker Hill Farm U-pick pumpkin patch, located at 9098 Dodson Road S. in Royal City, will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week. Early pumpkin picking has already begun and prices depend on size.

• Country Cousins Fall Festival, located at 1901 W. Hatton Road in Othello, will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. They open Sept. 30 and run until Oct. 31. Admission is $9 per person or $6 per person for ages 3-7 or over 55. The entry fee includes a hayride to the pumpkin patch, shooting the cannons, the corn maze, the jumping pillow, the hay mountain, the zip line, the corn pit and petting zoo. • Mickle Farms and Pumpkin Patch, located at 10500 Road E SW in Royal City, will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. There are pumpkins, a family-friendly corn maze, games and farm animals. The Mickle Massacre Maze – full of scarers – will be open Oct. 8, 15, 22 and 29 from 7 to 10 p.m. A flashlight and good walking shoes are recommended. Admission is $10 or $5 for 12 and under.

• Turner Pumpkin Junction, located at 11865 Road 8 NE in Moses Lake, will be open from Sept. 30 through the end of October. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Admission is $4 per person for ages 3 and up. There is a corn and pallet maze, mini western town, barrel train, pea pit, fire bowl, lawn games, straw pyramid and photo backdrop.
