RITZVILLE — County officials said nothing was missing or disturbed following an apparent attempt to break into the Adams County Auditor’s Office Nov. 11.

Auditor Heidi Hunt wrote in a press release that the county’s elections administrator was summoned to the office at about 3:15 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day.

The Adams County Courthouse was closed on Veterans Day.

“The Ritzville Police Department was already on the scene, as they had responded to an active intruder alarm,” Hunt wrote. “Nothing was found to be missing or disturbed. Because of the security system in place, all ballots remained secure at all times.”

The case is still under investigation, Hunt wrote.
