Ephrata school levies pass
EPHRATA - Both Ephrata School District Propositions 1 and 2 passed Tuesday night, according to unofficial election results.
“We look forward to getting to work on the projects these levies support,” said ESD Superintendent Tim Payne. “This funding will help us continue to serve the needs of our students and our community."
Proposition 1, which was a capital levy for technology and infrastructure improvements, passed with 55.72% of the total votes. The funds will go towards athletic field lighting upgrades, construction of a storage facility, transportation and maintenance building upgrades and technology improvements.
Proposition 2 was a levy to purchase four new buses and passed with 59.52% ‘yes’ votes.
"We are extremely thankful for the continued support that the community of Ephrata shows to its schools," said Payne. "Ephrata has never failed a school district levy and that is a powerful message of trust.”
