QUINCY — Alan Talbot was sworn in as the newest patrol officer for the Quincy Police Department during the regular Quincy City Council meeting Tuesday.

Talbot was the city’s animal control and community service officer before becoming a patrol officer.

Talbot said he was asked, when he was young, what he wanted to be.

“I always said I wanted to be a police officer. Or a soldier,” he said.

Talbot is native of Warden.

“Born and raised in Warden,” he said.

He served in the U.S. Navy, came back to Warden after his discharge and worked for the Warden Police Department as its animal control and code enforcement officer before coming to Quincy, he said.
