MOSES LAKE — The Downtown Moses Lake Association will join the Moses Lake Farmers Market to sponsor a series of downtown markets every third Thursday from June to September. The first Third Thursday is scheduled for June 16.

The DMLA will sponsor “open mic nights” during Third Thursday. The market will be open from 4 to 8 p.m., with the open mic performances from 6 to 7 p.m. The remaining Third Thursdays are scheduled for July 21, Aug. 18 and Sept. 15.

Applications are being solicited from prospective farmers market vendors and open market performers.

“This event aims to connect our local vendors and businesses while stimulating a nightlife in downtown Moses Lake,” according to a press release from the DMLA.

The DMLA hosted a series of events downtown in summer 2021; like last year, streets in the area will be closed to traffic.

“Vendors will be set up around Sinkiuse Square and adjacent streets, while the Open Mic Night takes the stage at Sinkiuse Square,” the press release said.

In addition, downtown businesses will have promotions and other events.

“Participating downtown businesses are hosting sidewalk chalk competitions, sip-and-shops and keeping their doors open a bit later,” according to the press release.

People who want to apply for Open Mic Night should text “Open Mic Night” with the performer’s name, type of act and music genre to 509-770-1700.

“All Open Mic Night acts must be kid-friendly,” the press release said.

Downtown Farmers Market vendors must be members of the Moses Lake Farmers Market association and fill out an application specifically for the downtown farmers market.
