June 10, 1953 – May 12, 2022

Linda L. Smith of Moses Lake, Washington peacefully passed away May 12, 2022, in Ephrata, Washington at Columbia Basin Hospital. Linda was born in Baker City, Oregon on June 10, 1953. She was raised in LaGrande Oregon. After her high school graduation in 1971, Linda moved to Spokane, Washington where she attended Kinman School of Business. While in Spokane she met and married the father of her children, Darcie and Aaron.

The family moved to Walla Walla, Washington in 1973 and then to Moses Lake in 1975. Linda worked as a lead supervisor at Sundstrand Data Control for over 10 years where many of the employees enjoyed working with her. After retirement, Linda moved back to her hometown of LaGrande, Oregon for several years but once again found her way back to Moses Lake.

As a young girl, Linda enjoyed spending time at their family cabin in the Blue Mountains, on her grandparents’ ranch in Baker City and at her aunt and uncle's country home in Coeur d'Alene. At an early age, Linda discovered she had a passion for reading which led to quite a book collection where she struggled parting with any book. As a young teenager, Linda took pride in sewing her own clothes. In her earlier adult years, she loved bowling and going out dancing with friends. Linda will be missed for her ability to bring a smile and a great attitude to almost any difficult situation. Her family will always cherish the love and support she gave them.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents Everett and Dolores Gilmore. She is survived by her children Darcie (Lance) Pope and Aaron Smith, and her four grandchildren Zackery Smith, Jolie Smith, Brentyn Smith and Kenneth Smith and great-grandson Augustus Smith. Linda is also survived by her brothers Louie and Jim Lyman.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on May 24, 2022, at Kayser's Chapel of Memories, 831 S. Pioneer Way, Moses Lake, Washington .
