Clayton H. Dubey

| May 17, 2022 1:00 AM

Clayton H. Dubey passed away quietly at home on May 4, 2022. Everyone who knew him or worked with him will genuinely miss him: the ranchers, farmers, coworkers, and snowmobile buddies.

He was born and raised in Albert Lea, Minnesota, and started school at the age of 4 because he kept following his siblings to school. At 14 years old he moved in with the neighbors to help run their dairy farm. They also owned the Skelly service station, which he eventually bought from them. He worked there every day from 6:30 in the morning till 9 at night. In 1977, he finally decided to come out west; he sold the filling station and came looking for a job. He retired a year ago at the age of 89 after 44 years of service to the Ranch and Home, Big R, and North 40 Outfitters stores. He worked hard all his life but never turned down an opportunity to go play. Snowmobiling was the love of his life.

To see him off, a family gathering will be held in the mountains with a view of the snow-covered peaks he always admired. He is survived by his daughter Vicki Glover and six grandchildren Elijah Nelson, Silva Nelson, David Dubey, Megan Plummer, Ray Glover and Flynn Glover. He was preceded in death by his wife Ellie, son and daughter-in-law Carl and Val Dubey and daughter Peggy Dubey.
