Cathy Rose passed away on April 30, 2022. She was born April 30, 1940, making her 82 years of age. She was in her home with her family at her side.

Cathy worked for the Dayton Police Department as a dispatcher. When the opportunity came to work with Milwaukee Railroad in Othello, Washington, she moved to Othello. She worked with the railroad until the Milwaukee folded. Cathy was hired on at the Burlington Northern Railroad in Pasco, Washington and worked for Burlington Railroad about 21 years. She started working at Walmart before it opened in the fabric department. She was her happiest there among the fabric and like-minded customers.

Her hobbies kept her busy; she enjoyed sewing, and crocheting while watching “Jeopardy” and “Wheel of Fortune,” as well as all the cooking shows she could find time for. She loved to camp and huckleberry pick.

Cathy is survived by her four children Sandi Gentry, Pennie Brady (son in-law Larry Brady), Kevan Dawson and Darrel Dawson. She has eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandkids. Cathy has six sisters Lind Reed, Christine Mosbogar, Pamela Krupa, Tami Sayer, Kevi Besel and Jackie Baxter and one brother Edger Darrel Page. Preceding her in death were her brother Edger Darrel Page, sister Pamela Krupa and great-granddaughter Aria Hodges.

Cathy will be laid to rest in Dayton Cemetery, Dayton, Washington on June 4 at 1 p.m., Jenny Krupa officiating. There will be a potluck at the senior center in Dayton after the graveside services.
