Cynthia Mae Dodd

| May 16, 2022 1:00 AM

Cynthia Mae Dodd, 75, of Quincy, Washington, departed her loving family peacefully in her home on May 5, 2022. Cindy was born in Sandusky, Ohio, to Howard and Virginia.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert Dodd, whom she married July 12, 1969, in New London, Ohio. Cindy was a devoted mother to daughters Kara Meyers, and Siobhan Wagner, as well as to sons Steven Dodd, Ronald Dodd and Geoffrey Dodd. She was a proud grandmother of 14 and a great-grandmother of one. Cindy will also be missed by her sisters Judy Smith and Juanita Oney, as well as her brothers David Crawford and Arthur Crawford.

Cindy was most noted for her gifts of goodwill to her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, sewing, cooking, and baking. For nearly 50 years Cindy could be found high-fiving her teammates at her weekly bowling league. Her competitive skills advanced her to yearly state and several national bowling competitions. Her competitive edge and passions did not stop with bowling. She held many state ribbons as a testament to her cooking and baking skills. Beyond all her tangible blue ribbons, she was proud of the many requests for her recipes that she proudly passed down to friends and family. She loved to share her treats with many. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her grandchildren. She endeavored to pass on her baking skills as she encouraged her grandchildren each year on their state fair entries.

Cindy was a constant cheerleader to all of her family’s activities, and for this she was well-traveled. Between all of her children’s extracurricular activities, she was able to visit many cities throughout the west coast. By supporting her husband at his Scottish Highland Games she was able to travel all around North America and also to Scotland.

A friend to many, Cindy’s loving nature extended to all those around her. When Cindy was not found home cooking she was out spreading more of her Goodwill. Cindy was full of energy and kept herself busy by driving friends to appointments, checking in on old acquaintances, kindly chatting with any and all that would listen, and always extending a helping hand; she was seldom still.

She is preceded in death by her parents Howard and Virginia, sister Norene, nephew Jamie and great-nephew Trent.

The memorial service will be located at Kayser’s Chapel of Memories in Moses Lake on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 1 p.m.
