November 28, 1965 – April 20, 2022

Kevin Roy Cannon, 56, of Moses Lake, Washington passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at his home.

Kevin was born on Nov. 28, 1965 in Moses Lake, Washington to Melvin LeRoy Cannon and Daisy M. (Dory) Cannon. He graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1984. After completing his associate’s degree at Walla Walla Community College in 1987, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served as a utilities equipment repairman working on HVAC systems. During his three years of military service, he served in Desert Shield and was awarded the Rifle M-16 Expert and Sharpshooter badge. While stationed in Texas, Kevin met and married Anna Burr on Feb. 10, 1990.

After being honorably discharged from the United States Army, Kevin and Anna returned to Moses Lake, where they later divorced on Aug. 12, 1994. Kevin later met his longtime life-partner, Kathy J. Sperry, with whom he enjoyed 22 years.

Kevin was a hard worker and worked for various farmers and wrecking yards, and driving truck. When he was not working he enjoyed reading, fixing old cars, cooking and spending time with family and friends. Kevin was a generous man and always made time to help friends and family with vehicle or other repairs. Kevin will be remembered by many for the years that he traveled between gatherings on Christmas Eve as Santa to delight the little ones – and for the fresh bread, cinnamon bread and deep-fried turkey he brought to every family gathering.

Kevin is survived by his life-partner Kathy J. Sperry, his daughter Melanie E. Cannon, his mother Daisy M. Sharp, a brother Brian R. Cannon, sisters Denise I. Cannon and Kathy S. Helgeson and her husband, Ben Taueu, and his closest friend Gary Newton and wife Marcea Newton. He is preceded in death by his father Melvin LeRoy Cannon, stepmother Berta G. Cannon and brother Donald L. Cannon.

No services are planned. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Kevin’s life to be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at his mother’s home at 11181 Gambel Drive NE in Moses Lake at 2 p.m.
