Ephrata SD seeks new Parkway principal
EPHRATA - The Ephrata School District announced today that Parkway Intermediate School Principal Dawn Turley will be leaving the district at the end of the school year, which leaves Ephrata SD looking for a replacement.
“I have loved and appreciated my time in Ephrata these last 15 years. The Ephrata School District is truly a remarkable place to work. The community is supportive, the students are fun, and the staff is exceptional. It is with mixed emotions that I leave a place as special as Parkway and move on to my next chapter in life,” Turley said via an Ephrata SD press release.
The announcement also said that the district has a strong pool of internal candidates to fill the position, though it did not necessarily disqualify any external candidates who may wish to apply. Interviews for the position are expected to begin next week and a new principal for Parkway will be named as soon as a comprehensive process is completed.
Meanwhile, Ephrata SD superintendent Tim Payne expressed gratitude for Turley’s service to the district.
“During Mrs.Turley’s time with the district she did an outstanding job as a strong leader of her building, a positive influence on our leadership team and as a staunch advocate for kids and learning,” Payne said. “We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Turley for her hard work and wish her all the best as she moves on to this new opportunity.”
Ephrata SD is also looking for several other staff members to fill a variety of roles. These include half a dozen paraeducators, five coaches, eight teachers for various grades and subjects and bus drivers.
