April 29
Report of a theft of a catalytic converter from the 1100 block of West Gem Avenue. Possible suspect identified with follow-up needed.
Report of vandalism at Moses Lake High School and day care center across the street in the 700 block of East Sharon Avenue. “ESP” was spray painted on a fence, east wall of the high school, and a door.
Report of threats made to employee at a business in the 900 block of North Stratford Road. Person making the threats was contacted and trespassed.
Report of a suspicious death in the 2200 block of West Peninsula Drive. Subject with many medical conditions was found deceased, body released to the Grant County coroner.
Report of a vehicle fire in the 4300 block of West Prichard Road. A silver Dodge Stratus was fully engulfed in flames, which were extinguished by the Moses Lake Fire Department. Officers were unable to contact registered owner of the vehicle.
April 30
Report of a hit and run accident in the 1100 block of West Luta Street. Reporting party said vehicle was unattended when it was hit, which was sometime after midnight.
Report of vandalism in the 400 block of East Nelson Road when one or more unknown suspects threw rocks at a window, breaking two.
Report of damage in the 400 block of North Paxson Drive when two teenage boys reportedly overturned a porta-potty at the location. There was no damage and police were unable to locate the suspects.
Two suspects with felony warrants were found in a dumpster in the 700 block of North Central Drive. One suspect was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail for his outstanding warrant.
Report of possible drug use in a vehicle parked in the 400 block of Melva Lane. Officers identified the vehicle as similar to one driven in several thefts, driver fled in vehicle after being contacted and then crashed into a stop sign on West Broadway Avenue. Driver then abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
May 1
Report of a theft in the 900 block of South Juniper Drive. Reporting party stated mail was stolen and image was captured of the alleged thief walking away with packages in hand.
Report of a theft from a vehicle in the 400 block of West Fourth Avenue when a reporting party a man was attempting to break into a vehicle. Suspect claimed he was trying to retrieve a friend’s wallet, was advised he does not have authorization to enter or remove any items from the vehicle.
Report of a theft of a catalytic converter from a private bus in the 800 block of East Wheeler Road. Suspects were seen attempting to take the converter, after which they fled in a dark, midsize SUV. Law enforcement was unable to locate the vehicle.
