MOSES LAKE — Seattle-based Mod Pizza will be opening a restaurant in Moses Lake, with opening scheduled for spring 2023.

Company spokesperson Charlotte Wayte said in an email Wednesday afternoon the company is planning on coming to town.

“We have signed a lease to open a store in Moses Lake,” Wayte wrote. “Approximate opening date at this point is spring 2023, just about a year from now.”

The new Mod Pizza will be part of a development at 2345 Maiers Road, between West Coast Auto Dealers and Taco Bell. The building will be new construction, and Mod Pizza’s restaurant will be about 2,600 square feet, Wayte said.

A spokesperson for Chipotle Mexican Grill declined to say whether or not the company is building a restaurant in Moses Lake.

Sally Evans, external communications analyst, said the company might be considering Moses Lake.

“We are exploring opportunities to bring our real food to Moses Lake in the future,” Evans wrote in response to an email. “Those are all the details that I can share at this time.”

Mod Pizza, according to its website, serves pizza and salads made that customers can personalize. Chipotle serves Mexican food, according to its website, and both are national chains.

The announcement followed an advertisement from the Spokane real estate firm Kiemle Hagood. The firm advertised the retail space for lease at 2345 Maiers Road. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2022, according to the advertisement.

Representatives from Kiemle Hagood had not responded to requests for information as of press time.
