Gary Holm

| March 24, 2022 1:00 AM

Gary Holm, 69, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully late on the night of March 14.

Gary was born in 1952 in McMinnville, Oregon, to Joyce and Roy Holm. Gary had five siblings. Gary lived in many places from Oregon to Washington to Arizona, but settled in Moses Lake with the love of his life, Kathy, where they raised their two children. Gary and Kathy celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last May with a vow renewal in their church surrounded by family and friends.

Gary was always a hardworking man who spent most of his life driving trucks, hauling everything from fertilizer to grains to "spuds." He spent several summers in Alaska working in a salmon fishery. Even after his retirement, Gary kept himself very busy: spending time at the family property up north replanting trees that were destroyed by fires, building cabins, out at the sand-dunes picking up garbage with friends, and woodworking, building everything from church piggy banks to Adirondack chairs. Gary loved spending time with his family, naps in his recliner with all the pups in his laps and eating black licorice ice cream while watching old Disney movies.

Gary is survived by his wife Kathy, son Chris; daughter Tammy; sisters Pat, Tammy, Nancy and Brenda; brother Mike; grandchildren Spencer, Mykel LeeAnn, Aliya, Kendra and Mya and great-grandchildren Connor and Emmett. Gary is preceded in death by his mother Joyce and father Roy. Gary was a loving man and friend to all. He will be missed dearly.
