Ralph Baker

| March 23, 2022 1:00 AM

Ralph Wayne Baker, 42, of Moses Lake, Washington passed away at his home in Tucson, Arizona Friday, Feb. 11, 2022. Those who knew him called him Ralphie.

Ralph spent the last 17 years in Arizona raising his children, Ian and Makayla. Ralph was very involved with his daughter’s gymnastics and Girl Scouts and his son’s school band. He was a maintenance superintendent and a business entrepreneur. Ralph spent his free time golfing, doing the tough mudder and spending time with his friends and family whom he loved fiercely. Ralph lived by the ideal that it was his job to make sure the ones he loved were taken care of, no matter the obstacles. He was an avid booster for the Marana Tigers band, which his son was a part of and continued even after he graduated.

Ralph attended Moses Lake High School where he played football and track and field. His senior year of high school the Moses Lake football team went to state. He was a track and field star. He participated in the discus and shot put; he held the record for the farthest shot throw for many years.

When he was 18 he donated bone marrow in Seattle to a woman who was almost an exact match, saving her life. Over the years he always made sure he came home to Washington to spend time with his lifelong friends (brothers of the heart) and family. His friends and those who had the pleasure of meeting him have all said he was just an all-around nice guy.

Ralph was preceded in death by his grandmother Thelma Baker, Rodger Schafer, uncle Gary Baker, uncle Robert Bong and cousins Lauren and Scott Baker. He is survived by his children Ian Bieg and Makayla Baker; moms Tammy Tincani, Judy Schafer and Patsy Rearden; girlfriend Erin McBride; grandparents Ralph and Gloria Chipman; uncle Ken Baker; aunt Pam Bong; uncle Wayne Chipman; aunt and uncle Steve and Paula Chipman; aunt and uncle Chuck and Becky Shattuck; uncle Willy (Will Chipman); sisters Karen Baker, Sarah Roussos, Michael Baker, Sara Robedeau and Myri Baker; brothers John Baker, Richard Tanis, Jesse Helland, Paris Roussos, Sage Schafer, Tyson Rearden and Jason Smith; nieces River Roussos, Emma Rose Tanis, Madison Cobb, Savannah-Rose Roussos, Caitlyn Lee, Kristina Allman and Summer Kump; nephews Dominick Baker, Owen Helland, Ryder Helland, Gunner Helland, Ricky Tanis, Zeke Brown, Gauge Brown, Jake Allman and Jacoby Allman; Family: Christina Baker, mother-in-law Mary Race, father- and mother-in-law Richard and Lynn Bieg, brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Wendy Bieg and numerous cousins.
