MLPD call log for March 18-20
MOSES LAKE - The information below is a noncomprehensive listing of calls responded to by the Moses Lake Police Department from March 18-20.
March 18
Report of a traffic accident in the 6700 block of Randolph Road NE. Reporting person said he struck a dog that ran across the road and was then struck by another vehicle. The dog was determined to be deceased.
Report of road rage in the 700 block of S. Clover Drive. Reporting party said a female suspect honked and flipped her off during student drop-off at Lakeview Elementary. Suspect said she honked at the responding party for driving slowly. Words were exchanged, the two went their separate ways.
Report of domestic disturbance in the 400 block of S. Balsam Street. Male and female suspects argued in the parking lot of the Moses Lake Police Department about a phone bill. Both parties were told to calm down and they eventually communicated the issue with each other.
Report of found property in the 500 block of S. C Street. Students at Midway Elementary found credit and debit cards as well as other items belonging to the victim robbed at the bus stop. Cards were returned to the victim.
Report of theft in the 1000 block of N. Stratford Road. Responding party advised more than $1,000 was stolen and wishes to file charges if a suspect is identified.
Report of vehicle prowl in the 500 block of S. Pioneer Way. Responding party said multiple vehicles were prowled the previous night by a male suspect captured on video, who was identified by police.
Report of damage in the 1100 block of E. Saint Helen’s Drive. Responding party said three juveniles were ringing the door bell and running away, and left trash in the park. Juveniles were contacted and picked up their garbage.
Report of welfare check in the 200 block of E. Broadway Avenue turned into the discovery of a man asleep in a stolen vehicle. Suspect was taken into custody.
Report of a verbal disturbance in the 2000 block of W. Valley Road. Report of screaming in the park, officers found children playing tag with their parents.
March 19
Report of a hit and run in a parking lot in the 600 block of S. Pioneer Way, reporting party provided video of the incident and photos were taken of the damaged vehicle.
Report of child abuse in the 1000 block of N. Stratford Road. Reporting party said she observed a child strapped into a car seat falling out of a vehicle, and an unknown male suspect strapped the child back in and drove off. Police were unable to locate the vehicle described as a white GMC SUV with no plates.
Report of a theft from the 400 block of S. Melva Lane. Reporting party said coin collection valued $7,000-$12,000 was stolen by a female suspect.
Report of theft from the 600 block of S. Pioneer Way. Reporting party said a man tripped the security alarm while walking out of business after trying on three pairs of pants, each worth about $20.
March 20
Report of a family disturbance from the 1100 block of W. Oregon Street. Dispute between reporting party and roommate escalated to physical altercation and assault, reporting party was punched six times and had hair pulled. Suspect fled and turned phone off.
Report of a suspicious person in the 600 block of S. Pioneer Way. Male suspect was detained after being found inside the reporting party’s vehicle, suspect threatened the officer and appeared belligerent and under the influence, but was released when the responding party refused to pursue charges.
Report of theft in the 1100 block of S. Ashley Way. Two bicycles, a red Classic Schwinn valued $1,000 and a black beach cruiser valued $400 were reported stolen.
Report of fraud in the 500 block of W. Valley Road when reporting party said a suspect was attempting to spend a fake $100 bill. Another fake bill was found on the suspect, who said he got them from his grandfather after cleaning his house.
Report of gunfire heard in the 1100 block of N. Grape Drive. Two male victims reported occupants of a gray vehicle opened fire on them as the gray vehicle drove past. Police recovered 15 shell casings at the scene.
