Ephrata man arrested in connection with Wenatchee stabbing
WENATCHEE — Miguel Angel Lopez-Montes, Jr., 34, of Ephrata was arrested early on March 13 in connection with a stabbing in Wenatchee.
A press release from the office of Douglas County Sheriff Kevin Morris stated that Lopez-Montez was arrested after a hang-up call to emergency dispatchers came in from the 2500 block of SR 28 in Wenatchee at about 11 p.m. on March 12. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a male in his 20s from the Wenatchee area had been stabbed multiple times in the abdomen.
Investigators identified Lopez-Montes as a suspect and learned that he had been injured and had fled on foot prior to law enforcement’s arrival.
Officers notified area medical facilities that Lopez-Montes may seek medical attention. At about 1:30 a.m., the Quincy Valley Medical Center reported that the suspect had come there seeking medical attention. He was then arrested and booked into the Chelan County Jail without incident.
The victim was last reported in critical condition at the Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee.
Lopez-Montes faces charges of Assault in the First Degree and Felony Threats to Kill. He is considered innocent until proven guilty. No hearing had been held as of press time to establish a plea or bail and Lopez-Montes was still listed as held at the Chelan County Regional Justice Center Sunday afternoon.
