Linda Rae Peterson Gustaveson
June 7, 1941 – February 17, 2022
Linda had a wonderful, diverse life. She was born in Spokane Washington but resided in a number of states, including Utah, Oregon, Michigan and Washington (most notably Vashon Island and Soap Lake).
Linda earned her teaching degree and taught primarily on Vashon Island and in Soap Lake, Washington as well as Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Linda’s years on Vashon Island where happy ones. She opened a spa, Springforth, as well as a dance studio. She made lifelong friends while living on the island.
Her more recent years were spent in Soap Lake, Washington where she enjoyed the water and sunshine and teaching at Soap Lake Middle/High School until her retirement at age 75. She sincerely enjoyed getting to know the students and taught at SLM/HS long enough to watch many of them grow up. They called her “Ms. G.”
Linda’s family: son Robert Lyle Gustaveson; daughters Britt Gustaveson and Anna Dworak Fredenberg; grandchildren Stella (Daria) Gustaveson, Erica Putsche, Haley McMahan, Joshua McMahan, Nick Griswold (Kristen Houston) and Tyler Griswold.; great-grandchildren Ashby Warner, Berkley McMahan and Hunter and Olivia Griswold; sister Ronda Lee and nieces Whitney Norris and Leah Gavino, grandnephews Elijah, Isaac, Jonah Norris and Owen Gavino and grandnieces Madison and Penelope Gavino; and sister: Robyn O’Neal and niece Riley O’Neal.
Linda’s family would like to offer a tremendous thank you to all the hospice and home care aides who were so caring and kind during this difficult time.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held in July on the West side of the mountains.
