Wineries to hold ribbon cutting in Kennewick

KENNEWICK — The Port of Kennewick, along with the city of Kennewick, Benton County and the Hanford Area Economic Investment Fund Advisory Committee, is inviting the public to come and celebrate the completion of the Columbia Gardens Phase Two project with the Gordon Estate Winery and the Muret-Gaston Winery.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, July 28, beginning at 2 p.m., and will also celebrate the Columbia Gardens founding wineries Bartholomew and Monarcha, according to a press release jointly issued by the port and city of Kennewick, Benton County, and HAEIFAC.

According to the press release, all winemakers will be in attendance, all four wineries will be open, and all food trucks will offer sample tastings immediately following the festivities.

Phase two of the project involved the construction of additional parking and a road loop, as well as space for a food truck plaza and six shovel-ready plots for private investment, according to the press release. The expansion project was funded in part by the Port of Kennewick along with the city, Benton County and several other rural development funds, the press release said.
