Ecology accepted the application as complete on May 17, 2022. Stoke Space Technologies owns and operates a rocket engine testing facility in Moses Lake, Washington. Water will be used to cool the exhaust from the rocket engine and concrete pad beneath the rocket engine test stand. The cooling water will be collected in a sump, routed to a 6,000 gallon vault, tested for water quality and discharged to a drywell located near the testing pad. The highest daily discharge flow from the facility will be 543.75 gallons per day. The wastewater, following treatment, must meet the requirements of the Washington State Water Pollution Control Act and applicable regulations for a permit to be issued. The Department of Ecology is proposing to issue the permit and is hereby issuing public notice of its intent.
