Sergio Moreno

April 6, 1946 — June 10, 2022

On the morning of June 10, 2022, Sergio Moreno bid adieu to this world, wishing a fond adios to those he loved.

Sergio was born on April 6, 1946, in Yakima, Washington to the late Hipolito and Gertrudis Moreno. Sergio was among the youngest of his 10 siblings, which include Helen Suniga, Tony Moreno, Tito Moreno, Victor Moreno, Victoria Vadnais, Lupe Fountain, Matilda Montgomery, Julian Moreno who passed in 1991 and Margarita Moreno Castillo, who passed in December 2020.

Sergio grew up in Wapato, Washington and enjoyed spending time with his siblings. When he was younger, he spent several years traveling through Southern California and Mexico before joining the Army in 1968 to serve his country in the Vietnam War.

Sergio met his late wife Colene in 1970 and was married shortly after. Together they shared a beautiful 40 years and had eight children.

Sergio was a loving and caring man; he enjoyed giving back to his community. He touched a lot of lives, giving to others without a second thought. Later in his life he enjoyed spending his time talking with friends at the senior center, the Alano Club, and Bob’s Cafe.

Sergio is survived by his four daughters Christina Mitchell, Michelle Guzman Boundy (Wayne), Patricia Guzman and Yesenia Marroquin (Diego), as well as three of his sons Jacob Moreno, Savas Moreno and Zachary Moreno. He’s also survived by his 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife Escolastica (Colene) Moreno and his son George Guzman.

There will be a celebration of life for Sergio held on Saturday, June 25th, 2022, at Bob’s Cafe in Moses Lake, Washington at 1 p.m. Sergio will be laid to rest on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery located in Medical Lake, Washington.
