Roger was born on Sept. 28, 1935, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Stuart and Lori Scott. He received his education from Theology Cascade College, U.S. Marine Corps mechanic school, and Central Washington University.

He spent 12 years in the military from 1954 to 1968. He was a part of the National Guard and United State Marine Corps, and served his country in the Vietnam War. He was a volunteer firefighter and EMI for 25 years in Washington.

On Feb. 2, 1963, he married his wife Phyllis. They raised two sons, Dennis and the late Michael, and one daughter, Debbie.

Roger enjoyed western movies and singing Swing Low. He was often heard whistling as we walked around the house in his "bah humbug Grinch” shirt. He spent much of his time working on the farm, and taught others the importance of hard work. Roger was also a real life Santa Claus with the red suit, white beard, and all, for his 4 grandchildren Marty, Colleen, Michael and Chase during Christmas.
