WARDEN — Drivers can expect delays along the first two miles of State Route 170 near Warden this week as crews install fiber optic cable.

A press release from the Washington Department of Transportation said contractors working for the Grant County PUD will be installing cable along the road from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through Thursday. Drivers can expect closures of the road shoulder and intermittent flagger-controlled traffic with some delays, the press release said.

Work also is continuing on the roundabout at the intersection of Grape Drive and State Route 17 in Moses Lake. Construction crews are working on the roundabout and its approaches, and WSDOT engineer Justin Hammond said in an earlier interview that left turns are prohibited on both streets. Traffic has been reduced to one lane on both streets and there are detours, the press release said. Hammond said the traffic restrictions are scheduled to remain in effect through the end of June.
