Hydro races return to Soap Lake
The race course was a giant loop marked out in the middle of Soap Lake. Winds caused choppy waters on Saturday, but Sunday saw plenty of action on the water.

Over the weekend more than a dozen boats competed in the Del Red Hydro Races in Soap Lake.
SOAP LAKE — The Del Red Hydro Races were held Saturday and Sunday on the waters of Soap Lake.
The event weathered a little bit of rain, wind and sunshine over the weekend as the whirring of the boats could be heard throughout the town.
Dozens of spectators watched from the shore while some braved wading out into the water to get a closer look as the boats sped through the course.
