Basin fastpitch teams take home trophies at the Phil Schultz Memorial Tournament
MOSES LAKE — Three local fastpitch teams took the Inaugural Phil Schultz Memorial Tournament in Moses Lake this past weekend in their respective age groups.
The three teams were the Washington Rage 18u, the Washington Rage 12u and the Washington Rage 10u.
The Washington Rage 18u fastpitch team was comprised of girls from Moses Lake, Ephrata and East Wenatchee. They went 4-1 during the weekend with their only loss coming from the Yakima Tigers. The local team would get revenge and beat the Tigers in the championship game 15-5. Moses Lake’s Paige Richardson was named the championship game All-Star.
The Washington Rage 12u fastpitch team won the tournament after beating NW Elite out of Eastern Oregon 12-4 to capture the championship. The team finished 4-0-1 on the weekend. The Championship Game All-Star for the Rage was Kiana Salazar.
The Washington Rage 10u, the youngest Rage team, beat the Rampage out of Ephrata 14-5 to capture the 10u championship. The team finished 5-0 on the weekend. The Championship Game All-Star for the 10u Rage was Mackenna Humphrey.
