EWU's Chism, Jerome named to All-Big Sky lists

SPOKANE — Eastern Washington University receiver Efton Chism III and defensive lineman Joshua Jerome were both named to the preseason All-Big Sky list on Monday at the Big Sky Conference Kickoff in Spokane.
The duo, who both graduated from Monroe High School, earned third-team All-Big Sky honors last season along with being tabbed All-Americans by HERO Sports.
In 20 games appeared in, the sophomore receiver Chism has started in nine games over the previous two seasons. He currently averages 4.00 receptions per game, tied for eighth in program history. In two seasons he has 80 receptions for 1,002 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Chism appeared in all 13 games for the Eagles a season ago, with seven starts. His nine touchdown catches last season led the team and was the second-most in the Big Sky Conference.
Jerome has appeared in 35 career games, starting in 20 of them - including 13 starts in 2021. The redshirt junior defensive tackle recorded a team-high seven sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss last season. He also had 61 total tackles, six quarterback hurries, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
Montana State led the Big Sky with eight selections to the all-conference preseason roster, followed by Montana and Sacramento State tied for second with five selections each.
