July 21, 1960 — July 9, 2022

Karl James Hersey, 61 years old, passed away at home with his closest family members by his side after a short and sudden battle with cancer on July 9, 2022.

Karl was born July 21, 1960, to Harold and Irene (Harris) Hersey in Seattle, Washington. After graduating from Ephrata High School he served on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. Upon his honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy he lived in Sultan, Washington where he worked for a dairy farm, then moved to Moses Lake for most of his adult life working with the cows, working as a delivery driver and back to working with the cows. Karl enjoyed playing darts, pool, fishing, hunting, golf and his motorcycle.

Karl is survived by his partner/wife of 27 years Jill Hersey, sister Sue Roberts of Moses Lake; Washington; like a sister MaryAnn Cantu (Joe) and children Nick (Ashley), of Sultan, Washington and Stacey Garza (Jr.), of Grandview, Washington; grandchildren Lily Avalos, Camryn Avalos, Denali Hersey, Sparrow Hersey and Ozzy Hersey; close friends Jim Long (Thelma) and Mike Meadows (Karin); and lastly his poker buddies.
