NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT AN OPEN RECORD PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD August 2, 2022 at 3:15 p.m. in the Grant County Commissioners Hearing Room, Courthouse, Ephrata, WA to consider a proposal from Grant County Development Services for an Amendment to the Grant County Code Title 14 - Buildings and Construction regarding Chapter 14.04 Uniform Codes. The Grant County Unified Development Code Section 23.08.020 (a) (1) currently allows accessory structures not exceeding 1500 square feet to be permitted prior to the construction of the primary use, which is the dwelling. The WA State Residential Code regulates dwelling units and their accessory structures and the term accessory structure includes garages, among all other structures that are accessory to the primary dwelling. The building code limits private garages to 1,000 square feet when constructed as the primary structure on residential lots so the amendment is necessary through an amendment to Title 14 Section 14.04.050, to add a definition for a detached residential garage as a primary use to the residential code. Any interested persons may appear regarding these matters. Grant County is also providing access to this scheduled hearing via WebEx audio. To participate in the hearing please call in to the hearing at 1 (408) 418-9388 and enter the access code (2484 617 6549), you will be joined to the meeting in a 'muted' status until such time as the hearing allows for public testimony. If you have any questions about this procedure, please call the Commissioner's Office in advance of the hearing. Barbara J. Vasquez, CMC Administrative Assistant & Clerk of the Board Grant County Commissioners #07023/546504 Pub;July 13, 20, 2022
