Gilpatrick Milligan
November 19, 1945 – July 7, 2022
Gilpatrick Milligan of Coulee City, Washington passed away on July 7, 2022, at his home with his wife, daughter and mother-in-law present. He courageously fought cancer for over five years.
He was born Nov. 19, 1945, in Yakima, Washington to Russell and Delores Milligan. He married the love of his life, Kitty, on March 2, 1984, in Naches, Washington. Gil was in the Army and served in Vietnam in 1968-1969 with the 737th Transportation Company out of Yakima, Washington. His lifelong occupation was music and song writing and he wrote and published several songs. He played his keyboard and guitar every day and he loved hikes, boating, gardening and his dogs Libby and Cisco.
He is survived by his spouse Kitty Milligan of Coulee City, Washington, his daughter Karrie Klaus and her husband Steve of Boston, Massachusetts, his son Shawn Milligan and his wife Lynette of Kirkland, Washington, his daughter Heather Brown and her husband Nathan of Spokane, Washington and his daughter Holly McCorkle and her husband Jeremy of Conifer, Colorado. He is also survived by his brothers Russell Milligan of Salt Lake City, Utah and Robert Milligan and his wife Barb of Enumclaw, Washington, his mother-in-law Connie Church of Coulee City, Washington, his best buddy and brother-in-law Gary Church and his wife Dawn of Covington, Washington and his brother-in-law Leroy Church and his wife Peggy of Molalla, Oregon. He has 7 grandchildren; Annaliese, Kassidy, Caden, Conor, Ashlyn, Bennett and Stella, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Delores Milligan.
His services will be held on July 29, 2022, at 12 p.m. at Tahoma Cemetery, 1802 Tahoma Ave. in Yakima, Washington.
The family would like to give love and thanks to Dr. Lindsay Overton and her staff at Confluence Health in Moses Lake, Charles Cooper in Omaha, Nebraska and the 737th Transportation Company of Yakima, Washington for all of their help and support over the years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the care of Nicoles Funeral Home of Ephrata.
