Michael Dean Treadwell

| July 15, 2022 10:58 AM

July 3, 1940 – June 3, 2022

Michael Dean Treadwell was born in Tacoma to Ray and Norma Treadwell on July 3, 1940, and was raised in Eatonville. He passed away due to natural causes on June 3, 2022.

Mike proudly served on the USS Richard S. Edwards (1959-63), and later worked at Simpson Timber Company for 30 years.

In 1972, Mike married Sharon (Johnson) Brink, a widower with two young boys Brad and Bryan, and moved to Olympia in 1973. Daughter Lisa was born in 1974, and Mike and Sharon resided in Olympia for over 40 years. After retirement, the couple started Wisteria Cottage, a popular antiques business that Mike contributed to with his rustic woodwork from birdhouses to potting benches.

When Mike was widowed in 2016, he closed the business and moved to Othello, to be near his daughter Lisa's family. Mike fell into a new routine of life when he moved to Othello. He rarely missed an event for the grandkids, enjoyed his daily breakfast at Sporty’s and filled many of the sunny eastern Washington days cruising the country roads and attending car shows with his 1932 Ford Model B pickup, 1970 Chevelle and 2017 Corvette. He met Hilda Torres when he moved over, and the two enjoyed several years together attending ball games, car shows, meals out on the town, trips to Montana and country drives.

Mike was a lover of old cars and car shows. He loved telling jokes and recounting stories from past adventures. He never met a stranger, and was quick with a smile and a laugh. He was generous in spirit, and loved his family and friends deeply.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 23, at noon at the Lacey Senior Center. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Mike's memory to the Thurston County Food Bank or Royal City Food Bank, two organizations he donated to for many years.
