City to close streets along W. Valley Road Monday and Tuesday
MOSES LAKE — The City of Moses Lake will close several streets along W. Valley Road on Monday and Tuesday as part of the reconstruction and repaving work being done on that road this summer.
In a posting on the city’s website, the city announced that Paxson Drive, Grape Drive, Sunburst Court and Vista Drive will be closed on Monday, July 18, and Tuesday, July 19, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The city said the length of the closure, which will prevent motorists from turning off any of these streets onto W. Valley Road, will give new asphalt time to cool down and set properly before carrying traffic.
“This timeframe for opening will also be dependent on asphalt temperatures,” the web site statement said.
The city also noted that southbound left turns on westbound State Route 17 onto Grape Drive are now allowed on the roundabout the Washington State Department of Transportation is currently building at the intersection of SR 17 and Grape Drive.
