A Quincy man died Tuesday morning in a rollover collision on state Route 28, west of Quincy, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Efren Murillo Tejeda, 42, was driving east on state Route 28 at milepost 27, just before 11:40 a.m., in a white 2006 Toyota Tacoma, when he left the road to the right to avoid stopped traffic – which was waiting for a vehicle to turn left – overcorrected and rolled.

The Toyota came to rest facing west, blocking both directions of state Route 28.

Murillo Tejeda died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt and his vehicle had reportable damage. Drugs or alcohol didn’t appear to be a factor, the WSP stated.

The WSP said the cause of the collision was inattention to the roadway.
