Fire destroys home south of Ephrata
Grant County Fire District 13 firefighters responded to a house fire Saturday night near Road A Northwest and Road 12.3 Northwest, south of Ephrata, according to a social media post.
Upon arrival, the home was fully engulfed, the post stated, and accessibility was difficult, which “hampered firefighters’ initial efforts.” However, the fire was controlled.
Crews were called to the scene at about 8:55 p.m. Firefighters remained on scene for about four hours due to “extensive overhaul,” the post stated, and the fire destroyed the home.
No one was home and the American Red Cross is assisting the homeowner.
The Grant County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the blaze.
