Quincy boys basketball team beats Cashmere
CASHMERE — The Quincy High School boys basketball team took on the Cashmere High School Bulldogs on Friday.
Quincy used the first quarter to get a five-point jump on Cashmere. Steadily, Quincy kept up the pressure to keep its lead over the Bulldogs. Cashmere put up a good fight, especially in the third and fourth quarters, where it outscored Quincy in each by one point.
Ultimately, it wasn’t enough and the Quincy Jacks handed the Bulldogs a loss on their own turf with a final score of 63-57.
Senior TreyVaughn Bierlink scored 18 points to lead the Jacks, with fellow senior Aidan Heikes following close behind with 16. Both are on track to have a shot at the 1,000-point club by the end of the postseason, depending on how far into the postseason the team reaches.
The Jacks are 7-1 in the league and 12-3 overall. Quincy takes on Manson High School next on Tuesday at Manson.
The Lady Jacks team lost to Cashmere 55-10.
