SELAH — The Ephrata High School boys basketball team suffered a close loss to league opponent Selah High School on Friday.

In a game that seemed not to vary more than eight points apart, the Ephrata Tigers ultimately fell to Selah 71-65.

Head coach Brandon Evenson, who was absent from the game, told the Columbia Basin Herald he felt the Tigers played well with only seven players that night.

Ephrata High School’s highest scorer of the night was senior Ethan Black, who had 25 points. Sophomore Cody Black followed close behind with 22. Selah’s highest scorer of the night had 16 points.

The Tigers are now 5-9 overall and 1-5 in the league. They take on conference contender Othello High School next at Othello on Tuesday.

The Lady Tigers also lost to Selah, 56-46.
