70-year-old Quincy man identified as person who died under ‘suspicious circumstances’

The identity of a man – found dead under “suspicious circumstances” in the 300 block of H Street Southwest in Quincy Dec. 28 – was released Monday.

Quincy Police Department Capt. Ryan Green said the man was 70-year-old Andres Rodriguez, of Quincy.

While toxicology reports are still pending from the Grant County Coroner’s Office, Green said the most likely cause of death was exposure to the cold temperatures experienced throughout the region.

Green said serious winter weather, such as the area experienced, should be a cause for area residents to look out for one another, especially the elderly and infirm.

“During extreme cold weather, just mainly keep an eye on each other and check in with each other to make sure we’re alright,” Green said.

Authorities initially reported Rodriguez’s passing as suspicious and are still waiting on additional information regarding the case.
