December 28, 1937 – February 9, 2022

Esther was never fond of her first name. So, from here on I’ll reference her as Darlene. Darlene was born in Lake Stevens, Washington, on Dec. 28, 1937. She was the daughter of Vern Delbert Roberts and Isabelle Hannah Peterson. Darlene served in the Navy in 1956. She also served as a CNA (certified nursing assistant) and as a TA (teaching assistant) for a time. She married Robert Edward Dibble on March 29, 1968, and he passed on March 9, 1989. Darlene passed in her home in Moses Lake, Washington, peacefully in her sleep. She was loved by so many friends and family.

She was preceded in death by both parents and her two sisters Verna Mae Kirby and Donna Bell Vanderpool. Her legacy lies in those she was survived by: her two sisters Erma Mae Hamilton and Dorothy Jean Martin; her six daughters Ellen Darlene Gross of Odessa, Washington, Betty Jean Dibble, Anna Elizabeth Dibble and Diane Rebecca Haaland, all of Moses Lake, Washington, Marie Pulido of Portland, Oregon and Tammy Roloff of Moses Lake, Washington; her sons Terry Allen Haaland of Moses Lake, Washington, Robert Dibble of Healy, Alaska and Darrel Roloff of Moses Lake, Washington; her grandchildren Philip and Chandra Collins of Fulton, Missouri, Matthew Gross of Odessa, Washington, Garrett Gross of Springfield, Missouri, Maegan Gross of Odessa, Washington, Terrance Haaland of Moses Lake, Washington, Tyler Hofstetter of Moses Lake, Washington, Jacob and Natalia Roloff of Rexburg, Idaho and Angeleeya Roloff and Alizabeth Roloff, both of Moses Lake, Washington. She also had four great-grandchildren Gemma, Alice, Naomi and Brynn, with a fifth on the way, Sophie.

She will be more than missed, with so many lives who were touched by her kindness and generosity. Darlene was a strong woman who always had a positive look on life, and she amazed many with her vast knowledge in various fields. Darlene will be remembered as a woman who never gave up, not even at the very end, and as an outstanding sister, a loving mother, the best grandmother and an even better great-grandmother. We love you, Darlene.
