Lucinda Rodriguez

January 21, 1942 – February 4, 2022

Beloved and devoted mom Lucinda Rodriguez passed away surrounded by her only child Deborah and some extended family at Samaritan Hospital on Feb. 4, 2022. She had just turned 80, a few weeks prior.

Lucy was born in Dilley, Texas, on Jan. 21, 1942, to Nicholas and Josefa Rodriguez the second of three sisters. Lucy loved to crochet and do crossword puzzles and was an avid reader especially the Holy Bible. She was a devoted Catholic.

On Dec. 16, 1960, Lucy married Frank “Pancho” C. Rodríguez. The two young people decided to make their new home in Moses Lake, Washington, after leaving Texas. The couple, after several years, was blessed with their only child, daughter Deborah. After some time and finishing trade school she had a variety of jobs including at Job Corps. Lucy spent nearly 16 years at Vista Quick Stop until she retired in 2003; she also was in Avon representative on and off for 30 years.

Lucy is survived by her only child Deborah. She is survived by her older sister Dominga and younger sister Delfina, both still residing in Pearsall, Texas, near their birthplace. Lucy is survived by many cousins who live in Moses Lake, Washington, and nieces as well as nephews she has in Texas, Wisconsin and other parts of the U.S. She also is survived by many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Nicolas and Josefa Rodriguez and her husband Frank Rodriguez. Lucy will be remembered for being one of the sweetest ladies you could ever meet.

Rosary will take place on Monday, Feb. 14, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Fatima Catholic Church and Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Guarding Angels Cemetery. Masks are required.
