Six more Columbia Basin athletes have been named Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) Athletes of the week in the past few weeks.

Each week throughout the school year, the WIAA and Gesa Credit Union recognize student-athletes for outstanding performances and contributions in their communities.

All students in good academic standing at their schools are eligible to receive the Athlete of the Week award and selections are based on nominations sent in. Students may win the award only once during any given academic year.

Each winner receives a letter of recognition from the WIAA executive director, a certificate of achievement and a $25 DICK’S Sporting Goods gift card, courtesy of Gesa Credit Union.

With each recognition, a small excerpt is put together about the student’s achievements this season.
