The Coulee-Hartline School District has an enrichment levy, formally known as a maintenance and operation (M&O) levy on Tuesday’s special election ballot, which, if passed, would fund a number of activities and services for the district, such as clubs and sports, as well as building maintenance.

The proposed levy would bring in a maximum amount of $350,624 for the school district in 2023 and 2024 each.

If the levy passes, property owners would pay $1.50 per $1,000 of property valuation. For example, those with a $200,000 property valuation could pay $300 per year.

The Grant County Official Local Voters’ Pamphlet states the district wants to continue using M&O levy money for the following:

• Additional administrative support

• Additional certificated/classified

• Building/grounds maintenance plan

• Club/sport activities

• Driver’s education

• Music program

• Preschool program

• Retaining/adding staff

• School lunch program

• School nurse

• Special education

• Substitute teachers

• Support guidance teacher

• Technology

• Transportation

The pamphlet also states the levy would continue funding capital project improvements to Coulee-Hartline K-5/9-12 school building/grounds, the Brick House Warrior Athletic & Community Center, and softball/baseball fields in Hartline.
