November 5, 1934 – January 16, 2022

Deloris Winona Dayett passed away peacefully in her sleep Jan. 16, 2022. She was born Nov. 5, 1934, in Jamestown, North Dakota, to Eldard and Florence Raymond. When she was 3 her family moved to Washington state where she attended school in Everett, Odessa and Moses Lake.

After high school she married, became a mom and moved to Texas. Life shifted and after some time, while living in El Paso, Texas, she met the love of her life, Jeffrey, while attending a dance. Not long after, on Aug. 23, 1963, he married her and her two daughters, beginning a life of loving memories. They were soon transferred to Germany where Jeff was stationed and Jeffrey Jr. was born. It was during this time that Dee volunteered with the American Red Cross. Once back home in the United States after completing Jeff’s military service, they settled in Moses Lake.

Dee worked in the clerical field for most of her career, which made taking care of the business Jeff and she built an easy and fun task for her. They opened and operated The Tack Shop for 26 years. Dee was civic-minded and volunteered through the years with many organizations. She was a Boy Scout den mother, a 4-H leader, a Sheriff’s Posse wife and a judge at local county fairs in the needlework categories, and helped organize several high school class reunions. She was a member of Eastern Star, Knit for Kids and American Red Cross, to name a few.

Deloris was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three brothers. She is survived by her children Teri Rose, Debi (Lowell) Shinn and Jeffrey (Tracy) Dayett; grandchildren Echo Pierce, Chris Pierce, Ian Brimberry, Amber Troupe, Heidi (Brian) Quade and Tanner Dayett; great-grandchildren Felicia, Joshua, Jonathan, Mackenzie, Piers, Madilyn and Finley; great-great-grandchildren Bryten, Logan, and Lukas; and sister Maryann Ginnard.

There will be a celebration of her life at a later date with details posted at that time. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made in her name to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
