Notice of Public Hearing Othello City Council Multi-Family Tax Exemption Program Notice is hereby given that the City of Othello will hold a public hearing to discuss adopting a Multi-Family Tax Exemption Program. This program would incentivize multi-family development by allowing a 12- or 20-year property tax exemption for new or rehabilitated multi-family units located within target areas. Proposed target areas are most areas of the city zoned Commercial or R-3 or R-4 Residential. The draft ordinance with proposed target areas is posted at https://www.othellowa.gov/mfte. The hearing will be held at the City Council meeting, Monday, Jan. 9, 2023 at 6:00 PM, at Othello City Hall, 500 E. Main St. The hearing will also be accessible by internet and phone.
