Senior Edgar De La Rosa (7) and sophomore Lance Allred (11) both represented Royal on the South Central Athletic Conference’s first-team all-league list. De La Rosa led the Knights in 2022 with 56 catches for 913 yards and 18 receiving touchdowns, while Allred hauled in 48 catches for 561 yards and 8 receiving touchdowns.
The Royal offensive line paved the way for more than 2,300 rushing yards this season. Royal’s senior Detton Jenks, junior Juan Morales and senior Rayce Eilers were all named as first-team offensive lineman in the South Central Athletic Conference. Freshman offensive lineman Abel Garcia was named to the second team.
Royal senior quarterback Dylan Allred (5) was named the South Central Athletic Conference’s Offensive Player of the Year, throwing for 2,476 yards and 32 touchdowns.
Senior running back/linebacker Kaleb Hernandez (32) was named the South Central Athletic Conference’s Defensive Player of the Year, making 54 total tackles (six for a loss), recording two sacks, intercepting a pass and forcing a fumble.

The 2022 football season ended in yet another state championship for the Royal Knights, their 11th WIAA title in school history.
