SOAP LAKE - Soap Lake celebrated its annual Winterfest Saturday afternoon with a number of activities for attendees of all ages.

Winterfest brought guests and residents to downtown Soap Lake to highlight local businesses and celebrate the winter season. The Soap Lake Food Bank held an open house serving cookies and hot chocolate, Grant County Department of Health handed out free COVID-19 test kits, the Del Red Pub had bingo where participants could win a turkey, carolers sang Christmas carols courtesy of Masquers theater actors, a live youth concert was given by Soap Lake students and Fire on Main had an open house.

One of the most exciting parts of Winterfest, if you ask the children, is when Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived. Grant County Fire District 7 gave the first couple of Christmas a ride into town where the children were excitedly waiting. Parents and their children were able to get photos with the jolly couple and were sent on their way with a small gift.
