Yolanda H. Cavazos

Yolanda H. Cavazos, 78, passed away on Aug. 26, 2022, at home with family at her side. She was born to Alfredo Hernandez and Guadalupe Cavazos Hernandez on Sept. 29, 1943, in Cartersville, Montana. They would travel from Crystal City, Texas to the north following the crops. They finally made their home in Moses Lake, Washington in 1962 where she spent the rest of her life. She married Jose Cavazos in 1988. They had 34 wonderful years together. In 2014 she was diagnosed with cancer. After a long battle, she passed away. She leaves behind husband Jose Cavazos; sisters Susie de La Cruz and Betty (Ray) Sosa and family from Grand Prairie, Texas; nieces Imelda (Robert) Hipolito, Alexandrea (Javier) Hipolito and their lovely family, Avianna, Amaree and Jovanni and nephew Robert Hipolito Jr.

Yolanda loved her Tejano music very much. She really enjoyed the years she spent with the senior center quilting group. Bless their soul. She was a volunteer with the Youth Senior Connection program in Moses Lake for five years. She would love to thank all the medical staff that helped her live these additional eight years. She was preceded in death by Macedonio and Rosario Hernandez, Alfredo and Guadalupe Hernandez and Olivia A. Hernandez.

A visitation is scheduled for Sept. 7, 2022, at Kayser’s Chapel of Memories in Moses Lake from 1 to 4 p.m. Services will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Moses Lake on Sept. 9, 2022, with rosary at 10:30 a.m. and Mass at 11 a.m.
