Basin footballers size each other up
ROYAL CITY — The high school football teams of Ephrata, Moses Lake, Quincy and Royal all took the field at Royal High School on Friday evening for a jamboree, with the beginning of the season just around the corner.
Teams saw the opportunity to face off against another team 10 days after the first day of practices, allowing them to test what they’ve learned without scores being tracked.
Each team’s offense and defense received 20 plays to move down the field and into the endzone. Once a team scored, they were allowed to reset, and use the remainder of their plays.
Each endzone saw a scrimmage matchup going on, with one school’s offense facing off against another school’s defense. Once the 20 plays were finished, another school would step in.
High school football season begins on September 2 around the Basin.
