December 14, 1928 – August 14, 2022

Coralie Keith passed away peacefully Aug. 14, 2022, after a brief illness.

Coralie was born Dec. 14, 1928, at home in Morland, Kansas to Charles and Essie Maupin. She was the fourth child of eight children; she had two brothers and five sisters. She was raised on a farm and attended school in Morland, Kansas.

She married the love of her life Otto Keith on Jan. 27, 1946. They farmed the homestead in Penokee, Kansas before moving to the Columbia Basin during the Columbia Basin Irrigation Project in the Royal City area in 1958. They raised their five children on the farm until Otto’s passing on Oct. 16, 1963, when she was left to raise their children on her own.

In 1971 she moved to Othello where her youngest child finished her schooling. She worked two jobs for many years at agricultural processing plants and cooking/waitressing in local establishments. In 1989 she lost her home to a fire caused by a faulty hot water heater, and she started over at the age of 61 years old. She never complained no matter how tough times were in her life. She finally retired in 1998 and moved to Moses Lake to be closer to her children.

She loved being surrounded by her family; they were the joy of her life. She loved gardening, cooking, preserving food, embroidering, sewing, dancing and socializing; she never met a stranger. Often you would see her at local fairs watching her grandchildren showing livestock and at soccer fields cheering them on. Later in life she enjoyed her game shows, word find books, puzzles and being with her family.

She leaves behind her four sons Charlie (Keva), Wilbur (Andrea), Phillip (Carol) and Richard (Barb); one daughter Susan (Dave) Swank; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren with another one on the way; seven great-great-grandchildren; three sisters Phyllis, Mary and Charlene, all of Hill City, Kansas and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Essie, her beloved husband Otto, two brothers Elwin and Dale Maupin and two sisters Imogene Garrison and Redonda Patton.
